Have You Ever?

Yes, I feel good! Was my thought as I awoke? I just knew this day was going to be great. I’ve prayed, showered, dressed finished up my errands and now ready for my destination for the day.

I was in such a good mood, it was a mood where I could feel the joy running through my every pore, and singing like a bird with new wings, and knowing it was going to be a great day.

Good morning, I said to those I past by. Good morning, was the reply as I walked down the street. Good morning, I said once again, this time hearing, What’s so good about it? And the tone of the person told me, someone had gotten up on the wrong side of the bed and a wrong choice had been made at the start of his/her day.

I said a quick prayer as I past by Mr. Grump and continued along my way.

Finally reaching my destination I noticed the moods were all but happy or good. One word spoken had already been taken as being offensive and the moods were now going from bad to worse, Oh, what a day, I thought.

Moods and attitudes changed quickly, it was as if the first offensive word had little wings as the bird with the new wings had, and was landing on each shoulder it came into contact with giving them foul words and attitudes; and soon there was turmoil throughout the building I was now in.

Kind words were now buried deep within and I soon found myself wishing I had of just stayed at home.

But a promise was a promise, a commitment was a commitment and now my day was laid out before God and everyone else. I was sure things would get better as the day went on, but nothing seemed to change.

My attitude was now just as rotten as everyone else’s and my joyful mood was now a memory. Moments later, I noticed the person who said the first offensive word was singing and trying to chat with others and as happy as could be; but he/she was now met with attitudes and offensive words started earlier that day. (James 3:2)

Yet my boss wasn’t affected by the offensive words at all; or a one of the attitudes and I wondered why. (James 3:17) Mr. Billy Goat, why aren’t you affected by the attitudes and the offensive words? Smiling, he said, I hoped someone would ask me about this sometime during the day, now here you are Miss Dagwood, Miss Dagwood I’ve learned that words and attitudes are workers of iniquity (James 3:16) and when you hear the first offensive word, reject it tell it to go away and it will. (James 4:7) (Luke 10:19) The same with the attitudes, don’t become angry at the person who spoke out the first offensive word or the one who coped the first attitude but say a quick prayer for them; and you be angry with the demon who stands behind the whole ordeal (1 Corinthians 10:3-5) and carry on with you joyful mood. (Isaiah 40:31)

Your joyful mood will soon pass from one person as the first offensive word spoken had earlier in the day. Your smile will spread from face to face and the attitudes will fade back into the shadows and the demon will tremble in his shoes. (James 2:19)

Miss Dagwood, you have a choice to either be involved with the iniquities of the day or the rejoicing that follows after a trying day.

It is easier to stop the offensive word from spreading through an entire building by keeping your cools. And by talking to the situation at hand, demanding it to leave your presence, (Luke 10:19) (Luke 10:19) remember it is your choice to be partakers of the craziness that takes place in this world; (1 Timothy 5:22) or joyful and full of thanksgiving. (Psalms 150:6)

Mr. Billy Goat, why did the attitudes jump in? He answered with that same smile in his face, The offensive word thrower was getting no where fast, so his buddy Mr. Attitude had to give him a helping hand to stir things up a little more with his dirty looks and gestures; just as your kind words and smile will work together too bring harmony back into the building your in, and in no time at all you will see the light is brighter and realize joy has filled the air. Then take notice, you are still in control of the mood you chose earlier in the day and others will be happy as well as you.

People make choices each day as they wake up on how they are going to make it through the day, and some of the choices involve others as well; Because misery loves company, and people don’t like to suffer alone and when they are down, (Proverbs 26:20) and love strife more then life. It is hard for those unhappy to see anyone else happy and trouble free as they trust in the Lord.

I think I understand Mr. Billy Goat, I will try to put the word of knowledge you gave me too good use.

Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, Shall be saved.
