God works in mysterious ways........ I never really knew just how mysterious God really does work, until almost a year ago! This is my story of how I got to here.......... It all began when I was searching for a pen pal to correspond with. I wrote to many different ladies. One of those ladies that I wrote to was Erma Sossman. Over the next few months we became very close. We found out that we both had so much in common and have been looking desperately for something or someone to fill a void in our lives. For me that void was a Mom. My Mom passed away 14 years ago, and I miss her terribly! She has gone to be with Jesus now and is in no more pain. I know that she is much better off with HIm, than to be here on earth and have to suffer. But still that didn't keep me from suffering because I loved her so and missed her very much. But then Erma came into my life......smile!

She has truly been heaven sent to me by God!! I have become her daughter as well as she has become my Mom. She has been such a blessing to me and to my whole family. Even my girls call her Grandma and truly do think of her in this way. It's as if we have know one another for all of our lives.

I have never felt so close to anyone other than my own family. I didn't know it at the time either, but before any of this had taken place in either of our lives, Mom had been praying for someone by the name of Patti. The Lord had laid this person on her heart and she had no idea of who this Patti was or what it was that she was in need of. So you can imagine how surprised she was to get a letter one day with the name "Patti" on it! Mom told me about how her and Pop had always wanted a daughter.... and now they have one...... me!! I love them both just as if they were my flesh and blood. You see, I was adopted when I was 6 wks old. I never knew who my birth parents were. I was born in Nevada.... Elko Nevada in 1964. The Lord gave me to two wonderful people. He couldn't of found a better set of parents than the ones he gave me to. They have loved me unconditionally for the last 38 years!! But there is such a connection there between Erma and I. It's kind of hard to explain, it's just one of those things that you know was meant to be. This was a work of the Lord, and he knew just exactly what the two of us were missing in our lives.

As time went by, I have told Mom several times that I want to do something with my life, I want to help others. I know that there is something that the Lord has for me to do, but I just don't know what it is. Well.... Praise God! Now I do know what it is! And this is it....... to write about experiences and obstacles that I have over come in my life. I had to go through many different situations to get to where I am today. Some times God has to let us experience things first hand, kind of a one on one thing before we can truly understand what it is all about. That is what he has done with me on several occasions, many times in my life. At that particular point and time when I was going through something, I would ask God why? Why was this happening to me, to my family? Why are we going through all of this? Each and every time I knew deep in my heart that there was a reason for it, but then I just didn't know what that reason was. The Lord has brought my family through many different kinds of trials and tribulations. But now that I can look back on it all, I know that it was a learning experiece for us. What better way to help someone who is in need, by telling them that you have been there first hand and you know exactly what it is that they are going through! By going through it yourself, you can totally and completely relate to that situation. And that is what God has for me to do. To share my life long experience with others and to let them know that there is hope, and there is always a way out of what ever situation it is that you are in.
